MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Republican state senator from Monongalia County said that he plans to introduce legislation to create the West Virginia Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

"I'm introducing legislation to create the West Virginia Department of Government Efficiency," Sen. Chris Rose (R-WV, District 2) said in a social media post on Monday.

"We must cut waste, slash bureaucracy, and make government work for YOU—not the other way around. Time for real fiscal conservatism in WV!" Rose said in the post.

Sen. Rose did not provide any other details about what WV DOGE would look like.
