After nearly 300 episodes and nine seasons, MTV has officially canceled “Catfish: The TV Show.” Co-creators and hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph announced the end of the popular reality series in a social media post earlier this week.
“‘Catfish’ has officially been canceled,” Schulman said. “‘Catfish as we’ve known it is over, which is sad, but at the same time, what an incredible journey it’s been.”
The show, which premiered in 2012 following Schulman’s successful 2010 documentary of the same name, featured the hosts traveling across the country to help people in online relationships discover if their partners were genuine or imposters.
