A Stourbridge woman has been banned from keeping animals for ten years after eight cats were found dead in a freezer at her former home.

RSPCA inspectors found the cats' bodies stuffed inside a freezer when they arrived at Tina Cottam's old address in Claycroft Place, Lye .

Concerns had been raised about the welfare of cats after the 35-year-old had moved out of the property.

Seven other cats, still alive, but extremely underweight, were rescued from the filthy house which had excrement all over the floor.

RSPCA Inspector Fiona Howell, who investigated for the charity, said: “The flat was messy and there was excrement all over the floors.
