SUNBURY, Ohio (WCMH) — Two adults, including a pregnant woman, were rescued from a car almost entirely submerged in a Delaware County pond Wednesday evening.

According to the BST&G Fire Department, which serves the Berkshire, Sunbury, Trenton and Galena communities in central Ohio, crews were called to Everest Drive in Sunbury at about 8 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a vehicle underwater in a pond, with people trapped inside.

Responding firefighters found the vehicle with water levels reaching the rooftop and two victims inside. First responders entered the water and conducted a “rapid rescue”, a report said on the BSTG Fire District social media page. Both individuals, including a woman who was pregnant, were succ
