Syracuse, N.Y. - The president of a Syracuse University fraternity said an antisemitic attack on the fraternity on Rosh Hashanah was an “act of ignorance, intolerance and hatred.”

Around 6 p.m. Tuesday, a student entered the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity on Walnut Street and threw a clear plastic bag of pork that hit a wall in the house. Students inside were marking the Jewish New Year, one of the High Holy Days in Judaism.

Syracuse police in court papers said the incident was a “religiously motivated attack” on the historically Jewish fraternity.
