JOHNSONVILLE, S.C. — State agents have arrested a South Carolina woman for allegedly stealing lottery tickets and trying to cash them in.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced on Thursday that 19-year-old Germeane Roshelle Burgess of Florence County was charged with intent to defraud with counterfeit game tickets on Tuesday.

According to a provided warrant, Burgess is accused of trying to pass off 10 scratch-off lottery tickets at the Five Points Superette on Lake City Highway in Johnsonville on Sept. 1. Investigators allege she stole the tickets from the Circle K on North Georgetown Highway, also in Johnsonville, earlier the same day. In all, authorities stated that Burgess attempted to claim roughly $171.
