Supermarket bosses have been forced to locked down £2.50 a pop packs of PG Tips after ‘tea leaves’ targeted the iconic brews for thefts. ‌

Bosses at a Sainsbury’s Local in Croydon, south London, have slapped alarmed security tags on 70-bag boxes of Decaf PG Tips worth just £2.50 and 160-bag packs of Original PG Tips worth £5.40. ‌

While at Tesco’s Express store in Redhill, Surrey, alarms were also spotted on £6.20 a pop 160-bag boxes of Decaf PG Tips as well as 80-pack boxes of Twinings English Breakfast Tea priced at £6.90. ‌
