MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- The simmering football rivalry between the University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks and the Arkansas State Red Wolves is getting a fresh twist this season.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, the two Sun Belt Conference foes will face off in what’s now being called the Rice Bowl Rivalry, a new tradition launched in partnership with USA Rice.

Inspired by the vast rice fields stretching between Monroe, Louisiana, and Jonesboro, Arkansas, two of the nation’s top rice-producing regions, the Rice Bowl Rivalry celebrates both athletic competition and agricultural heritage.

This year’s matchup also marks ULM’s 2025 Homecoming game, with kickoff set for 2:00 PM at Malone Stadium. The winning team will take home the newly designed Rice Bowl trophy, created by USA Rice. Each year’s v
