AUBURN — After the SEC released permanent opponent designations and conference schedules for the next four years on Tuesday, Sept. 23, Hugh Freeze couldn't do much more than make light of it.

"Were the Packers available?" Freeze quipped Thursday, Sept. 25. "Could we get them, and maybe the Chiefs?"

His Auburn football program has arguably the toughest draw in terms of the league's three permanent conference opponents, facing Alabama, Georgia and Vanderbilt annually the next four seasons, all of which beat the Tigers last fall en route to a combined 27-13 record.
