WASHINGTON — On the sidelines of George Washington University women's volleyball, one tiny princess is stealing the show.
Alongside the familiar image of the nation’s first president stands a princess.
Her name is Juniper. To players, coaches and fans, she’s “Princess Juni.”
"She gives a lot back," Nicole Alford, the team's assistant coach and Juniper's aunt, said. "More than she’ll ever know."
Juniper has been cheering on the team since she was barely big enough to hold a ball. Win or lose, teammates say she’s always been a spark.
“And you can count on Juni being a light for our team,” said co-captain Amina Robinson.
That light has only grown more powerful as Juniper faces her toughest challenge.
