WASHINGTON — The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference is warning the D.C. high school athletics community about a scam targeting Instagram users.

According to conference officials, the scammers create a site that mimics the WCAC site and its streaming platforms. Users will be prompted to click on a link to a livestream.

When the user clicks on the link, they’re prompted to leave personal information to sign up – information that might even include credit card numbers.

DeMatha Catholic High School posted a letter from Commissioner Dwayne Foster, including WCAC letterhead, on their social media.
