CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -- A suspect accused of breaking into multiple cars in a downtown Charleston neighborhood is in custody after police tracked him down using a pair of stolen Apple AirPods.

Officers with the Charleston Police Department responded to Gibbes Street near Lenwood Boulevard around 8 a.m. on Sept. 20 to reports of several vehicles being broken into overnight.

Authorities were able to locate the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Shaoquna Rishen Williams, shortly after using video footage from nearby residents and tracking a set of AirPods that had been stolen.

"They discovered a stolen Rolex watch on the suspect's wrist and recovered a bookbag containing additional property, including the tracked AirPods, all reported stolen in the nearby car break-ins," a CPD new
