ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A 20-foot hole has been growing on one St. Johns County street for nearly four months, with cones and caution tape now marking what neighbors say is a growing safety hazard and a shrinking sense of trust. The came to Ask Anthony for help.
“Since June 1, you’ve just watched this hole get bigger and bigger,” Anthony Austin said to Christina Watson, whose front yard has turned into a construction zone...without the construction.
What started as a small hole has ballooned into a 20-foot-wide crater in the Legacy section of Heritage Landing, a gated portion of about 55 homes.
"There was a smaller hole that actually developed up farther near that grate that was actually the size of my shoe," Watson said.
