Rep. Dan Goldman joined EmblemHealth earlier Thursday in Manhattan to announce that the nonprofit insurer is pledging $2 million to tackle hunger across the city.

“We’re going to need partnerships from our community organizations, from our private companies to fill in the gaps. There will be gaps, and we will be fighting to close those gaps. I will be fighting to close those gaps in Washington, but we have to plan for actually addressing the needs on the ground until that is done,” he said.

Karen Ignagni, the executive chair at EmblemHealth, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” to talk about the investment.
