A new political action committee called the “Patriot PAC” is looking to elect candidates with a background in public service.
This includes candidates who have served in the military, as public school teachers and as first responders.
The PAC was launched Thursday by Hudson Valley Rep. Pat Ryan. Its goal is to raise more than $2 million for 50 New York-based candidates around the state this election cycle.
Next year, the PAC plans to endorse 250 candidates across the country.
Ryan, a Democrat who represents New York’s 18th Congressional District, which includes Orange County and parts of Dutchess and Ulster Counties in the Hudson Valley, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to talk about the PAC.
