BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Could sponsored jersey patches soon be coming to college football uniforms?

That could be the case, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports insider Ross Dellenger .

Dellenger reported Thursday that D1 commissioners were in Chicago this week and received an update on the long-running discussion of whether to allow the jersey patches or not.

Dellenger says the legislation to allow the sponsored patches is expected to be approved and could even appear on jerseys in time for the 2026 season.
