FAIRFIELD, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Fairfield Police Department is looking to rebuild, grow, and reestablish itself as a vital presence in western Jefferson County.
With only 11 officers currently serving the community, Chief Julius Hunter says the department is ready to expand and is searching for the right people to join the ranks.
For Officer Adonis Dancer, the mission of a police officer is deeply personal.
“My dad’s a traveling nurse. It started with him here back in ‘08. He was an EMT. I realized that part of the medical field wasn’t for me but being a police officer and helping out people someway, somehow was great experience for me,” Dancer said.
