TIGARD, Ore. — The Tigard City Council will appoint one of their own as mayor after Heidi Lueb's abrupt resignation earlier in September.

Lueb said that ongoing conflict with other city councilors and city staff was behind her decision to step down, and she left office immediately. Council President Maureen Wolf is acting as mayor pro tem.

Earlier this week, the city council mulled over options to replace Lueb, either by appointing someone from the public and holding a special election — which there isn't enough time for — or appointing a sitting city councilor.
