FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) – A man from Alabama was arrested on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop on U.S. 23 netted fentanyl and other drugs, the Flatwoods Police Department said.

It happened Wednesday, also resulting in the seizure of 142 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a large amount of cash. Police said 8 grams of fentanyl were recovered.

Nathaniel Wigfall was taken into custody after a brief struggle, police said.

He is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

Police said a K-9 unit helped notify them about narcotics on the passenger side of the vehicle. The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office assisted during the investigation, according to Flatwoods Police.
