West Virginians desperate for help dealing with our state’s ongoing polluted drinking water crisis shouldn’t get their hopes up that an amendment offered by Rep. Riley Moore, R-W.Va., and passed by the U.S. House of Representatives will solve any of their problems.

Earlier this summer, shortly before Congress left Washington for its August break, the House Appropriations Committee met to discuss the funding bill for energy and water agencies, which include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA, as most know, is responsible for protecting human health and ensuring Americans have clean air and water.

During that gathering, Moore, West Virginia’s newest member of Congress and member of the aforementioned committee, spoke about an amendment he was adding to the funding bill.
