President Donald Trump has announced his decision to designate antifa as a “terrorism organization.” But antifa (anti-fascism) isn’t an organization. Rather, it’s a belief, specifically, that government should not be controlled by big business. Antifa is a philosophy, like conservatism, liberalism, feminism, globalism or isolationism. Former FBI Director Christopher Wray rightly defined antifa as a “movement or ideology.”
Evidently, Trump favors fascism. But why? Did the schoolboy Donald Trump fall asleep when everyone else was learning that the U.S. defeated Mussolini’s fascism in Italy during World War II? Was he distracted that day, perhaps sweating a looming math exam or a spelling quiz on words like cat and acetaminophen?
