The Town of Cottesloe will trial short-term parking bays along popular Marine Parade to help reduce overflow.
Over the next two summers, up to three 10-minute short-term bays will be allocated outside Curtin Heritage Living in Cottesloe.
The move comes after growing concerns that elderly residents of the aged-care complex have struggled to be dropped off close to the building’s entrance, particularly since the opening of the George Kailis-led Gibney Cottesloe brasserie and grill, which has added to the parking squeeze along the foreshore.
The trial will run across the 2025-26 and 2026-27 summers, with photographic evidence collected to determine whether the bay should be made permanent.
Town director of engineering services Shaun Kan said it aimed to improve accessibility for residents
