EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The University of Evansville softball team has been burning the morning oil with 6 a.m. practices under new head coach, Bailey Dillender.

Coach Dillender says they've been using the fall ball practices to improve the team in three areas they want to see growth in from last year. The three areas are also keys she believe are instilled in playing championship ball. One, is getting the pitchers back in rhythm after their offseason. She says good pitching is a foundation to winning. Two, is making sure the batters have their timing down. They need to make sure their swings are calculated and not wasted at the plate. Finally number three, working to increase their fielding percentage. Dillender emphasizes you can't win a championship without good fielding.
