NEW YORK STATE (WSYR-TV) -- Inflation checks will start being mailed out to eligible New Yorkers on Friday, Sept. 26.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Sept. 26 that New York's first-ever inflation checks will be sent directly to 8.2 million households, with deliveries continuing throughout October and November.

You do not need to sign up to receive a check, and there are no age restrictions.

Who's eligible for an inflation refund check?

You are eligible if, for the 2023 tax year, you: • Filed Form IT-201, New York State Resident Income Tax Return • Reported income within the qualifying thresholds below • Were not claimed as a dependent on another taxpayer's return • Joint tax filers with income up to $150,000 will receive a $400 check. • Joint tax filers with income over $1
