Continuing this year’s theme of “Building Connected Neighborhoods,” Herbert Romero and his organization ProjecT.O.O.L.Success will bring Hispanic Heritage Month festivities to Bellevue this coming weekend.
The organization kicked off the month-long, nationally designated celebration with a festival in Hailey last weekend. Featuring art, dance, music, food, bubbles and bouncy houses, Bellevue will host its festival this Saturday in Memorial Park.
For several years, Romero coordinated with the Bellevue Public Library to hold Hispanic Heritage Month events there. Last year he proposed expanding the event to take place in the park. There was, he reasoned, only one other major event that took place in the park—the city’s annual Labor Day celebration—and moving to the park would allow him to i
