KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville woman was sentenced Friday morning to 12 years in prison for killing a grandfather and gravely injuring his two grandchildren while drag racing.

Trinity Clark, 24, was convicted Aug. 9 for her role in a January 2023 crash on Magnolia Avenue that killed 65-year-old Michael Williams, of New Market, and seriously injured two of his grandchildren. A jury found her guilty on all 14 charges, which included vehicular homicide by drag racing and reckless aggravated assault.

Clark and Tra'Shawn Glass raced at speeds as high as 109 mph in their Dodge Chargers before slamming directly into Williams' truck. It was a Tuesday afternoon.

Glass is now serving a 12-year prison sentence in the case.
