GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - A suspected drunk driver was arrested after leading officers on a chase in a stolen car.

Garfield Heights police said the driver, whose name has not been released, also had a felony warrant out for his arrest.

According to police, the officer used the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to bring the pursuit to an end safely and arrest the driver.

“We have a duty to arrest criminals. We have a duty to protect the public,” posted Garfield Heights police on Facebook.

Police added officers continually train on intervention strategies and techniques to “end pursuits as quickly and safely as possible.”

“Criminals, please stop coming to Garfield Heights. . Ask around… it won’t end well for you," posted Garfield Heights police on Facebook.
