HOUSTON (KIAH) - Thursday, hundreds gathered to honor Senior Police Officer Alex D. Roberts, who was killed in a crash while escorting traffic.

Fellow officers, leaders, family, and friends filled the service to pay their respects to the 15-year veteran with the Houston Police Department. Roberts was assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Division Solo Motorcycle Detail and was remembered for his dedication, courage, and service since being sworn in back in November 2010.

Reflecting on the impact of his life, HPD Police Chief J. Noe Diaz, Jr. said, “Senior Police Officer Roberts faithfully served the Houston Police Department with honor and dedication. His loss is felt deeply within our department and the community he proudly served,” confirming the office
