GALVESTON, Texas (CW39) – Moody Gardens has welcomed a rare and tiny new arrival — the birth of a pygmy slow loris, one of the world’s most endangered primates.
The male was born August 18, 2025, at the Rainforest Pyramid to parents Cheddar and Roach, weighing just 23 grams at birth. The pygmy slow loris (Nycticebus pygmaeus) is native to rainforests in Cambodia, China, Laos, and Vietnam but faces severe threats from habitat loss.
