A man was seriously injured in a crash in Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Thursday evening.

Stoughton police say officers responded around 5:35 p.m. to a report of a crash in the area of 1057 Washington Street (Route 138) near Gay Street, and arrived to find a vehicle had crashed into a utility pole there.

The adult male driver, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to Boston Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

No other information was immediately available, including what led to the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
