Showers and thunderstorms likely through the weekend in New Mexico

Showers and thunderstorms are likely across many parts of New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday.

Heavy rain is possible with some storms that develop over central and southern New Mexico over the weekend.

There is a slight risk for heavy and flooding for Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Ruidoso, Socorro and south toward Las Cruces.

Rainfall amounts could range between a 0.5" to 1.5" in central New Mexico. Areas around Ruidoso could see rainfall amounts of up to 2".
