Thirteen years after the previous surface was installed, the Belgrade Booster Club Track at Belgrade High School received a facelift.

Over the past month, a new rubberized all weather surface was installed on the track and runways, and the project was completed Thursday after the final striping and lettering was laid down.

At a total cost of just over $474,000, the new surface is expected to last for about a decade before maintenance would be necessary.

“We’re proud of it,” Belgrade Principal Shanna Smith said. “It’s one more thing to be proud of and we host some big meets. Our kids are out there performing with pride, and our community gets involved. So we’re proud of it and we thank those who contributed.”

The previous surfaced was installed in August of 2012 and was on the end of it
