LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Stable Recovery, a Lexington-based recovery program, now has a women’s horsemanship program at Spy Coast Farm.
The program gives women in recovery the chance to learn from some of the best professionals in the sport horse industry while working to overcome addiction.
“Every opportunity to make this place bigger and better, we’ve taken it,” said Dr. Modesty Burleson, resident veterinarian and COO of Spy Coast Farm.
For many women, it’s a chance to discover newfound worth.
“There’s a lot of crying and there’s a lot of laughing and all of this is excellent recovery,” said Spy Coast Farm owner Lisa Laurie.
Six women are part of Stable Recovery’s first women’s program in partnership with the 800-acre farm, which is known for breeding and developing top-quality horse
