ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for a deadly 2021 robbery .

A St. Louis jury found James J. Blake, 24, guilty of the March 8, 2021 shooting death of Kathon Moore. The 14-year-old was thrown off a bicycle in the 1100 block of Hodiamont Avenue and shot in the head.

Prosecutors said Blake and Omarion Mays, then 16, knocked Moore off his bicycle. Mays then reportedly assaulted Moore while Blake shot him in the head. The suspects took marijuana from Moore and drove off.

In court, Moore’s grandmother said that she forgave Blake and prays he becomes a better person while serving time.
