ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A repeated sex offender will be sent to prison for life Friday for sexually abusing a child in South St. Louis.
Court documents state that 56-year-old Andre Elgin visited an underaged girl frequently, when parents were not around, and repeatedly abused her. The suspect was previously convicted of rape and sodomy of other minors.
The jury charged Elgin with first degree sodomy, three counts of second degree child molestation, and sexual misconduct involving a child under 15. Court documents also state that the jury identified him as a persistent sex offender, which triggered a mandatory life sentence without parole.
