VIENNA TWP., Ohio - The Western Reserve Port Authority (WRPA), in partnership with the Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS) and the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, plan to unveil the Air Heritage Walking Trail.
The new community space is still under construction and is expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2026.
Located on 22 acres near the airport and air reserve station, the one-mile trail is in the shape of a C-130 aircraft, as seen above.
The walking surface of the trail incorporates grindings from the recently-replaced taxiway, allowing guests to walk on materials that actual C-130s have rolled across.
Additionally, the trail will have interactive signage with QR codes that guests can scan to learn about the history of aviation in the Mahoning Valley.
