COLUMBUS, Ohio — The gloomy weather didn’t dampen the excitement on Thursday as 75 veterans made the trip to Washington, D.C. with Honor Flight Columbus.

The group is made up of veterans with years of service representing World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War and even the Global War on Terror. They also include four veterans, featured by 10TV earlier in the week.

Those four are friends who live at the Bristol, a senior living facility in Worthington. At 87, Bill Forloine is the youngest of this group that also includes Gene Howell, 91, Phil Williamson, 92, and Bill O’Bannon, 98.

They arrived before sunrise to John Glenn Columbus International Airport to gather together for the start of a special day that took them to the nation’s capital to visit their service and war memorials.
