COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho – Dave Tysdal, a Coeur d’Alene firefighter who was shot while during an ambush while responding to a fire on Canfield Mountain, faced a blood infection but is now back on the road to rehabilitation according to the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department.
The department wrote that Tysdal faced a serious blood infection that resulted in sepsis, but recovered and is back on schedule with all of his rehabilitation therapies.
His upper body continues to get stronger and he is learning to drive with hand controls this week, which he was a natural at, wrote the department.
“The Tysdal family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and well wishes as they still have a long road of healing ahead,” they concluded in their update.
