COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d'Alene firefighter who was shot and injured in an ambush attack back in June is making steady recovery progress , according to the fire department.
The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department posted an update on Dave Tysdal's rehab progress, noting that he is on schedule in all his therapies.
CDAFD says Tysdal was shot in the back, which collapsed his left lung, damaged his clavicle, shattered several ribs, and caused spinal swelling. He is being treated at a specialty hospital in Colorado.
The fire department says Tysdal had a serious blood infection that resulted in sepsis, but he has since recovered and is continuing to get stronger.
