GRESHAM, Ore. — Gresham High School will dedicate its football season to teammate Tucker Santillanes, who suffered a serious neck injury during last week's game against David Douglas High School.
The dedication will take place before the national anthem at Friday's home game against Hood River High School. Students are encouraged to wear black and white to the game in support of Santillanes. The football program will sell T-shirts with the slogan "TuckerStrong," with proceeds benefiting the Santillanes family. Students have also created a banner in his honor that will be displayed in front of the student section.
A GoFundMe account has been established to raise funds for Santillanes' medical expenses and other needs. As of Friday morning, the campaign has raised more than $25,000.
