LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- The Michigan Department of Education has launched a website to help parents of young Deaf or hard of hearing children hit significant development milestones and provide them with valuable information.
The site includes information on language milestones for children up to 5 years old, ways parents can support them through acquiring language skills at a young age, information on languages, ways to communicate, programs to help with their child's development, and ways for parents to track their progress.
Michele Harmala is the state's deputy superintendent of Educator Excellence, Career and Technical Education, Special Education, and Administrative Law, and says the resource is the result of work from a large group of people and organizations.
