BOLIVIA, N.C. (WNCN) — With a tropical system expected to form into a storm over the weekend, one school system along North Carolina's coast has already canceled classes for Monday.

On Friday afternoon, Brunswick County Schools in the southeastern corner of the state announced it will be closed to students "due to the threat of inclement weather." The district said staff will receive information through their email and from their supervisors. Plans for Tuesday will be put out no later than 5 p.m. Monday, according to the system.

One county north in New Hanover County, school leaders there have not yet made a final decision on Monday's schedule as of 4 p.m. Friday. According to New Hanover County Schools, the "most likely scenario" is for students to come in as normal and then be dismisse
