KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — I-275 in Knoxville will be closed in both directions this weekend as the third and final road closure for the bridge that runs over Elm Street and Bernard Avenue.

The bridge will close from September 26 at 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on September 29.

“It’s good. I'm glad that they look at them and make sure they're safe. I have my kids drive and now I got a new grandson, and I want them to be safe on the road as well,” said Kelly Stapleton.

Stapleton said she drives over this section of I-275 every day, and seeing the work being done on it gives her peace of mind.
