EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Two men face criminal charges stemming from a fight during Michigan State University’s Welcome Week, authorities announced Friday evening.

The two men are accused of participating in a fight on Sunday, Aug. 24 outside of Dave’s Hot Chicken on Albert Avenue.

Lonnie Smith, 21, from Okemos, was charged with disturbing the public peace by engaging in a fight or brawl in a public space. He was also issued a misdemeanor citation for disorderly fighting.

Mason Woods, 22, from East Lansing, was charged with disturbing the public peace by fighting in a public space and resisting or obstructing a police officer in the performance of lawful duties. He was also issued misdemeanor citations for disorderly fighting and resisting arrest.
