BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — Firefighters responded Friday afternoon to a small plane crash near a private airstrip in Clark County. There are not believed to be any survivors.

An official with Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue told KGW that they were dispatched just after 1 p.m. to an aircraft emergency at Goheen Airport in Battle Ground. They arrived to find a small single-engine plane, a Cessna C172, crashed and fully engulfed in flames.

CCFR could not immediately say how many were aboard the plane when it crashed but said that no one survived. Kaye Goheen, owner of Goheen Airport, told KGW that one person had been onboard and that they had been trying to land when the crash happened.
