CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — As central Ohio’s population continues to grow, so does the demand for improved health care. Women in Pickaway County now have access to advanced breast imaging technology, thanks to support from community donors.

OhioHealth Berger Hospital and the OhioHealth Circleville Health Center have introduced 3D mammography, a diagnostic tool that creates a three-dimensional image of breast tissue. The technology is designed to improve cancer detection, particularly in patients with dense breast tissue.

“This allows us to see breast tissue through very thin layers,” said Rachel VanFossen, medical imaging manager at OhioHealth Berger Hospital. “If you have dense breast tissue, it allows us to see places that cancer could hide before with 2D mammography.”
