Craig Bellamy admitted his side has a rest advantage in the lead up to next Sunday's decider, while taking issue with claims this season will be a failure if his side is not victorious in the grand final.

Bellamy advanced to an 11th grand final appearance as the Storm fought off a valiant Sharks team with a 22-14 victory at AAMI Park.

The finals format sees the winner of Friday night's preliminary final have extra preparation time before the grand final, with the second preliminary final being played on Saturday night ahead of next Sunday's clash. Advertisement

Bellamy was asked if his side had the upper hand with more rest, and the Storm mentor did not shy away from the fact.

"Yeah, I think it is an advantage, but with all due respect, we didn't make that decision," Bellamy said.
