MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Starting next year, Murfreesboro residents will have a new reason to visit downtown.

Just a short walk down from the town square, 401 W. Lytle Street will be home to the city’s first downtown brewery, Smackdab Brewing. It's just one of many new businesses coming to Murfreesboro.

"For six or seven years, we've just been expanding," real estate agent Steve Zavisa told News 2.

The city is already home to some big name stores like Trader Joe's, Raising Cane's and Whataburger. Murfreesboro also recently broke ground on a brand new Buc-ee’s gas station.

Another gas station with a cult following, Wawa, is also planning to open a store on Veteran’s Parkway next year.
