BUNKIE, La. (KALB) - If you’ve been to Gene Britton Stadium over the last nearly four decades, odds are you’ve been greeted by the voice of Ike Riche.

“I’ve always been a fan of high school football,” Riche said on what brings him back each year. “Being a player a long time ago, and having an opportunity to be part of this program.”

Ike’s run as the PA announcer for the Panthers began back in 1990, when he was asked to fill in for the team’s jamboree.

“I agreed to do the jamboree,” Riche recalled. “I had two of my good friends come up and spot for me, and we had a blast. After that, I just fell in love with it.”
