HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two kids from Kauai have a shot to win it all with their impressive head of hair.

The final round of voting is now open in the 2025 Mullet Championships.

Haʻao Tasic-Peru of Kilauea is a finalist in the kid’s division. The 7-year-old loves surfing and fishing, and calls his mullet, “Da Hawaiian Gromlet.”

According to his father, Tasic-Peru has been growing his hair out since birth and eventually got tired of rocking a man-bun.

“He used to just rock the boy bun yeah, 24/7 and coming out of surfing, wouldn’t wash it for two days and it started to dreadlock already,” said Kyle Kaelele Peru. “Like boy, we gotta take care of this thing. and I’d use it to like, if you don’t behave, we’re cutting your hair.”
